A Mechanical Drafting/CAD Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Wilmington, NC area. The Mechanical Drafting/CAD Technician role involves assisting in the creation, revision, and storage of electronic drawing files for custom-designed process equipment, ensuring compliance with company drafting standards and utilizing Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

salary: $19.74 - 31.36 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: Associates

responsibilities:

• Assist area drafting lead with completing engineering/development drawing sets.

• Ensure compliance with company drafting standards.

• No new design activity within scope.

• Correct redlined models/drawings.

• Convert legacy hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models.

• Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models.

• Collect data from engineering teams and production floor.

Skills:

• Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards.

• General Windows-based computer skills.

• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault software.

• Ability to adapt to company standards.

• strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

• A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree.

• A.O.S. Drafting/CAD degree.

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in mechanical drafting.

• Drafting Certificate/Certification.

• Candidates without degrees must demonstrate drafting proficiency and 2 years of relevant experience.
