Job Description:

With minimal supervision from high-level engineers, the successful Program Design Engineering 3 candidate will create detailed system designs, documentation packages, and equipment orders for use in the implementation phase. The candidate will have proven ability to convert proposals into detailed designs and provide manufacturing-level documentation. The candidate will be responsible for implementing solid, consistent designs, based on templates and guides, which meet customer and contractual requirements. The candidate shall be able to provide mentorship to other members of the design team and modify engineering schedules and manage their work budgets. The candidate will be able to problem solve, relate different sections of the system design to one another, and understand the systems as a whole. The PDE 3 candidate will be capable of running small programs on their own with minor assistance from higher-level engineers.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, document creation, and equipment ordering for IP-Based radio system networks

  • Following established ISO processes via tollgate system

  • Manage submittal timelines and personal budgets within program team constraints

  • Lead internal factory testing of designed radio system

  • Up to 20% Travel may be required

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's with 4 years prior systems engineering experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 8 years prior systems engineering experience or Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior systems engineering related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Strong communication / organization skills

  • Detail-oriented

  • Ability to deliver customer presentations and manage vendors
