IHG Laundry Supervisor at InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa in Ras al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates

We take laundry seriously. So, we’re searching for a Laundry Supervisor with an exceptional eye for detail and a passion for perfection to make sure every single linen and guest item is washed, dried, and folded to meet our exceptional standards.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Supervise and train staff in day-to-day laundry operations and prioritizing daily tasks

• Ensure guest laundry, dry cleaning and pressing are completed according to set standards

• Records guest and staff laundry lists accurately

• Fully complies with Opera system requirements, by posting bills accurately and on time

• Ensure that guest supplies are in stock

• Assist the Assistant Housekeeping Manager in assessing staff attendance and performance

• Assists Laundry Manager in the processing of all departmental paperwork

• Assist the Assistant Housekeeping Manager in taking proper inventories and quality checks

• Conducts daily briefings with staff, training the team according to the standards

• Proper fillings of all laundry reports

• Regular check all laundry machinery ensuring all filters are cleaned regularly and press covers are in good condition; report any machine defects to Engineering

• Ensure staff are using laundry equipment properly and keeping them in good condition

• Assist and liaise with the Assistant Housekeeping Manager regarding the laundering of sundry guest room items e.g. net curtains, cushion covers

• Liaise with Linen/Uniform Room Supervisor re: processing of Linens and Uniforms

• Keep strict control of items sent for laundering by staff members

• Complies with the hotel’s health, safety and hygiene policy

• Adheres to personal grooming and hygiene standards

• Fully understands the difference of guest levels (VIP)

What We need from you:

● It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day, so fitness is important

● Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 400 pounds

• Must be able to lead and manage a team and have previous experience doing so

• Knowledge of Opera Property Management System would be desirable

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

• Must have minimum 3 years of Laundry experience preferably in a luxury hotel environment with 1 year at a supervisory level
