GE Aerospace Special Process Engineer in Subang, Malaysia

Job Description Summary

The Special Process Engineer is responsible to provide support and technical leadership on maintaining current repair processes for maintenance Aircraft Engine components. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership ability by ensuring repair processes meet quality requirements, EHS regulatory requirements and operational objective

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Act as Special Process Owner as define in company procedure.

  • Provide operational and technical leadership on repair processes as well as improving existing current process in shop.

  • Prepare and control Process Documents applicable to repair process area as per GE internal procedure.

  • Create and review Repair routers/ Process Sheet, consumables and Equipment related to repair process as define in Engine Manual requirements.

  • Responsible to undertake the necessary corrective and preventive action resulting from quality non-compliance monitoring and audit program.

  • Initiates, identifies, recommends, and leads projects in the area of responsibility to improve product safety, quality, and cost.

  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to perform troubleshooting activities, lead improvement projects, and problem-solving events and resolve equipment/downtime issues.

  • Other relevant duties as assigned by superior.

  • Initiate new repair capabilities in GE by directly involve in initial stage of repair process analysis, cost impact, and investment required.

  • Working together with cross-functional team for NPI (New Process Introduction) and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) .

  • Responsible to ensure continuation process for various type of current in house repair capabilities.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Material Science Engineering.

  • A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in areas related to Manufacturing / MRO industry. Experience preferably in a Part 145 organization or, AS9100 or ISO 9001 organization.

  • Non-Aviation industry are also can be considered.

  • Essential (Must Have) theoretical and practical knowledge/experience in Painting, Blasting and/or Shot Peening process.

  • Added advantage to have knowledge in chemical Etching processes, Metal cleaning, Ultrasonic cleaning, Welding and Waterjet stripping.

  • Prior experience in area of R&D or New Process Introduction Initiatives

  • Solid critical thinking skills (ability to manage and resolve conflict, communicate issues, and propose solutions to stakeholders).

  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to identify problems and propose solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Route Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) to identify and analyze problems.
