Under general supervision/procedural control, this position is responsible for the purchase, merchandising, and return of all Saint Paul College general merchandise, as well as oversight of the Copy Center & Mail Room.
Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in buying techniques and open to buy.
Ability to create relationships to make informed buying decisions that represents the campus community.
Experience in purchasing, marketing, and/or displaying of resale merchandise.
Ability and skills to operate modern office machinery including: cash registers and personal computers/software, and copy/printers.
Ability to plan, train, assign, and supervise the work of others to meet deadlines.
Customer service skills and experience in practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer’s needs, meet quality standards for services, that result in customer satisfaction.
Ability to frequently lift and/or carrying objects such as heavy tools and file boxes up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of college store experience.
Experience with retail POS systems (MBS preferable).
General merchandise purchasing in a campus store environment.
Copy Center and duplicating experience.
An understanding of inventory software and controls as well as markdown schedule.
Physical Requirements
This position requires occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as file folders, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
Additional Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State‘s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
