Your role

You have fresh ideas and technical expertise to create the quality programming Canadians have come to expect from us. As an outside-the-box thinker, you are someone who is always ready to explore new ways of creating content that is as distinctive, intelligent and innovative as the people we look to hire.

As Regional Lineup Editor, you are responsible for the lineup of regional news bulletins, supervising their on-air presentation or online publication. You also determine story angles, as well as write copy, headlines and intros for reports. Finally, you prepare live hits with reporters and act as a newsreader.

Your profile:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent

  • Five (5) years’ journalism experience or the equivalent

Skills:

  • Extensive general knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of current events and regional affairs

  • Fluency in French, spoken and written

  • Knowledge of the other official language is an asset

  • Solid command of communication techniques specific to the medium

  • Thorough knowledge of newsroom logistics

  • Knowledge of production techniques

  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices

  • Highly organized so as to meet tight newsroom deadlines

  • Experience with production software (Dalet, Media Browser, iNews used at CBC/Radio-Canada) an asset

Selected candidates will be tested as follows:

  • Theory test: position-related knowledge

  • French test

  • Interview
