We are offering a unique opportunity for a Senior Accountant in the Real Estate & Property industry, located in Rochester, New York. This role is part of a dynamic team and involves overseeing the accounting function for a portfolio of properties, maintaining General Ledger, and reviewing financials for portfolio accountants.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounting function for a portfolio of properties

• Review the work and financials for the portfolio accountants

• Maintain General Ledger and have full oversight of that set of books

• Utilize Accounting Software Systems such as CaseWare and LexisNexis

• Proficiently use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites for various accounting functions

• Carry out auditing tasks and bookkeeping functions as required

• Prepare and manage documentation related to accounting activities

• Analyze and prepare financial statements

• Work closely with the Controller and CFO, offering support and insights when needed

• Continuously update skills and industry knowledge to ensure effectiveness in role

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with CaseWare, LexisNexis, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suites

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience with Auditing processes and procedures

• Ability to perform Bookkeeping Functions effectively

• Strong skills in Documentation

• Capable of analyzing and preparing Financial Statements

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the Real Estate & Property industry

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA preferred)

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and time management skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
