Robert Half Staff Accountant in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team located in Richmond, Virginia. The main role encompasses conducting end-to-end general accounting and other related duties for the organization. The Staff Accountant will be involved in assisting with the maintenance of the general ledger, reconciling accounts, managing accounts receivable collections, and providing assistance to outside auditors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform end-to-end general accounting duties for the organization

• Assist in maintaining the general ledger

• Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close monthly books

• Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts

• Manage accounts receivable collections and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts

• Provide assistance to outside auditors by gathering necessary account information and documents to perform the annual audit

• Manage the purchasing and invoicing system

• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures

• Utilize accounting software such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Understanding of General Ledger management

• Ability to accurately record Journal Entries

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Proven track record of maintaining confidential financial information

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

• Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulations

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of accounting.
