Job Description

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s Diversified Business Group is seeking an organized, analytical, and hardworking professional to join its Corporate Development team as a Senior Strategic Advisor, Financial Monitoring and Analysis. In this newly created role, you will be tasked with developing a deep understanding of the Diversified Business Group portfolio of companies’ financial performance to inform executives on the key drivers of performance and to identify optimization opportunities. The Senior Strategic Advisor will collaborate with multiple teams across the organization and will gain exposure to other corporate development activities such as the execution of strategic partnerships and investments. What You’ll Do

  • In collaboration with other stakeholders, develop internal processes to standardize financial reporting on our strategic partnerships and investments.

  • Identify underlying trends in company performance, proactively generating ideas on growth opportunities, cost saving initiatives, or other optimization opportunities to support the companies’ long-term goals.

  • Actively communicate across multiple stakeholders, providing value-added commentary in addition to informative analyses.

  • Prepare committee and board materials and serve as the go-to individual for a deep understanding of the key drivers of business performance.

  • Lead other key workstreams on strategic initiatives (e.g. new market entry, partnership diligence).

  • Develop analyses demonstrating the stakeholder impact our partnerships are having in the communities we serve.

  • Engage in other corporate development initiatives such as conducting due diligence, developing financial analyses and models, and preparing presentations and business cases to execute on strategic transactions.

What You’ll Give

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 5+ years of experience in related field

  • In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field

Bonus Points (Preferred qualifications)

  • Proficient with MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience working with financial statements and conducting rigorous analysis to identify trends and key drivers of financial performance, ideally across multiple different industries.

  • Prior experience in strategic finance, financial planning and analysis, or other similar roles.

  • Able to proactively collaborate across many functional areas and groups.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, qualitative, and quantitative).

Salary Range

$84,000.00 - $152,200.00
