Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer II, your role will be to:

• help define, architect, build, and support Android for Outlook Mobile – the mobile face of our company.

• make technology and design decisions to deliver a fast, secure, and usable app.

• work with the Outlook Shared Platform team to define needs and APIs that will provide the best user experience.

• create beautiful UI and intuitive UX that will delight our users.

• contribute in partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements for a feature.

• consider a variety of feedback channels to incorporate insights into future designs or solution fixes.

• incorporate appropriate continuous feedback loops measuring customer value, usage patterns, and other actionable metrics of value.

• learn and contribute to processes for the architecture of a product/solution feature and learn to create proposals by testing design hypotheses and helping to refine code plans under the technical leadership of others.

• learn about, share new ideas, and leverage software developer tools to create, debug, and maintain code for features.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• OR equivalent experience

• 2+ years object-oriented programming experience in languages including, but not limited to, Kotin or Java.

• 1+ year(s) building and supporting user-facing products.

• Experience with Android or equivalent UI development.

Preffered Qualifications:

• Demonstrated technical competencies with large-scale codebases.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
