Robert Half Project Assistant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role involves managing procurement deliverables, particularly vendor onboarding, within an integrated facility management setting. As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be expected to handle large sets of data, assist in the creation of vendor information packets, and manage vendor correspondence. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with sourcing and contracting policies, creating dashboards and reports, and solving problems for stakeholders. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Make and respond to phone calls with vendors during the transition period

• Handle large sets of data, ensuring accuracy and efficient tracking of required and received data by vendor

• Utilize both internal and external resources to research missing contact information for vendors

• Assist in the creation of vendor information packets and attachments as needed

• Manage email correspondence between the team and vendor partners, escalating as needed

• Ensure the Site Service Matrix is managed to ensure vendors are in place for all required sites and categories, assisting with contingency plans as needed

• Keep up to date on latest technologies, tools, and systems related to the role

• Ensure compliance with sourcing and contracting policies, procedures, risk management programs, and ethics

• Establish effective solutions for stakeholders through problem-solving

• Work within time-sensitive deadlines, escalating to team leads as needed. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

• Minimum of two years of experience in purchasing or a related role.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

• Ability to analyze market trends and apply insights to purchasing strategies.

• Familiarity with purchasing software and databases.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

• Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.

• Experience with vendor management.
