Argonne National Laboratory Technician SR - Electro-Mechanical in Lemont, Illinois

Argonne Nuclear, Waste and Site Support is in search of a candidate to provide electrical support operations for scientific programs and equipment. This candidate operates, maintains and troubleshoot specialized equipment and completes compliance activities in the assigned facility. Responsibilities include performing facility surveillance requirements activities, installation. Assist users and interface with engineering and maintenance personnel. Must maintain knowledge and awareness of laboratory policies and procedures. Maintains awareness of the Laboratory ES&H policies and procedures and works in compliance on a day-to-day basis.

Position Requirements

  • Strong electrical background up to 480V AC, qualified electrical worker preferred.

  • Under supervision operates and maintains facility infrastructure equipment and completes compliance activities in the assigned facility.

  • The candidate should be proficient in the use of hand and shop tools, multimeters and basic measuring tools.

  • Experience with Deactivation and Decommissioning of electrical equipment and components within buildings/structures.

  • Operate facility systems as trained/instructed, maintaining facility equipment, and interfacing with and engineering and maintenance personnel.

  • Experience with logging of detailed technical documentation by taking measurements and recording observations related to electro-mechanical system maintenance, system performance, and system modifications.

  • Good customer service skills with internal and external customers.

  • Must maintain knowledge and awareness of laboratory policies and procedures. Maintains awareness of the Laboratory ES&H policies and procedures and works in compliance on a day-to-day basis.

Minimum Education & Experience or Equivalent Combination for the SR Tech position is an Associates degree & 5 years of relevant work experience. The education equivalency can be obtained through technical training or work experience.
