Principal Instrument & Control Engineers

Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

Technical Competencies

Lead Instrumentation Engineer experienced in multi-discipline engineering teams on mainly oil & gas industry green field / brown field projects. Projects ranging from conceptual studies, FEED, and detailed design to complete installations.

The engineer shall undertake the design and engineering deliverables required for the project. Knowledge of ICSS including DCS, ESD, and FGS with instrumentation communication protocols.

Ability to develop the preliminary and final stage I&C, and design deliverables including contributing to P&IDs Instrument List, and Control system specifications.

Competent in the application, specification, and requisitioning of DCS, PLC, and SIS systems, with experience in the system’s full life cycles. Experienced in reviewing System vendor documentation for compliance with project and process specifications.

Develop automation-related deliverables including, I/O lists, and interface requirements with other third-party systems. Assists process engineering development of process control narrative, Cause and Effects, etc.

Experienced in developing philosophies, block drawings, and datasheets for all systems. Support and review the design work and studies in the development of drawings, layouts, Cable Schedules, Interconnection & Termination diagrams, and the scope of works.

Experience in contributing to HAZOP, SIL, and design reviews and conducting FAT for the Control systems. Functional safety experience and certification preferred.

Experience working with globally integrated delivery teams is preferred.

Awareness of National, International, and Oil company standards for example IEC, ISA, BSI, NFPA, ANSI, ASME, API, etc.

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • a relevant number of years' experience, including Design Engineering work experience in the Oil and Gas Industries

  • Knowledge of Safety standards for Instruments and Control IEC 61508, IEC 61511

  • Be familiar with all relevant engineering and design software

  • Knowledge of Instrumentation database software e.g., SPI
