Cargill Junior Merchant in Karachi, Pakistan

Job Purpose and Impact

The Junior Merchant will contribute to trade execution and trading games plan. In this role, you will handle system management, internal and external key stakeholders communication, trading games facilitation and develop and nurture customer relationship.

Key Accountabilities

  • Execute and extract value from physical volume relative to the futures curve at low volume practices. .

  • Execute game plans for defined products; maintain accurate trading data; facilitate delivery and payment; handle physical execution risk following trading strategy. .

  • Nurture strategic customer and supplier relationship and explore new opportunities in line with established trading strategy; continuously optimize process efficiency.

  • Support trading view by the collection of insight from key stakeholders such as mill, warehouse, traders, suppliers and customers.

  • Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.

  • Help implement sales strategies, identify potential customers and foster existing customer relationships

  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Confirmed analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Minimum two years of commercial trading or sales experience.

  • Experienced in using Gaoda system.

  • Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
