Consulting Engineer Propulsion

Perform analysis, design, or test of one or more moderately complex materials (including energetics), structural components, and control systems for propulsion systems. Apply engineering principles, industry standards, company standards and customer requirements to develop propulsion systems (electric, solid/liquid fuel rocket, air-breathing, thrusters) for application in launch vehicles, missile systems, and space mission systems. Coordinate strategy for developing and leveraging multi-disciplinary design, optimization, and analysis processes to support mission requirements. Define and coordinate the conduct of testing required to evaluate design work.

Basic Qualifications:

• Secret Security Clearance

• 20+ years experience in propulsion disciplines

• Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline

• Experience in internal ballistics, thermochemical analysis, fluid mechanics, airbreathing propulsion, and solid rocket motor design and analysis

• Experience in both development and production phase of propulsion systems/subsystems

• Demonstrated leadership experience

• Demonstrated history of customer engagement and satisfaction

-This work will be preformed on-site at our Huntsville, AL location.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Top Secret Security Clearance

• Master's degree in engineering discipline

• Air and Missile Defense propulsion and controls experience

• High Speed Strike propulsion experience

• Prior Program/Portfolio management experience

Salary Range: $194,100 - $291,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
