Exterran Lean Specialist Leader in Houston, Texas
This role will be responsible and accountable for continuous improvement and efficiencies across the Company’s products, systems, operations and processes in manufacturing. Must be an expert in lean or six sigma methodologies.
Working with the Senior Management Team, develop, set the pace and implement business transformational and continuous improvement strategy with sensitivity towards the organizational structure, culture, people and processes. Outline direction and deployment of the Lean framework to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the business in line with best practices. Responsible for the successful management and implementation of improvement projects/initiatives across the business by developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team and building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
The candidate will demonstrate knowledge and execution of lean, six sigma and process improvement concepts, approaches and methodologies; and will own the manufacturing organization training, lean tool utilization and implementing lean strategies. Focus on projects / process improvement to ensure that products are manufactured with the appropriate safety, quality, cost and delivered. A strong manufacturing, continuous improvement, and teaming expertise will establish the foundation of this role.
The candidate will also demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience and/or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and long-term business goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategy and Development - Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice Lean vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Lean activities
Develop a robust continuous improvement strategy in partnership with the Management Team and key business stakeholders. Implement and support cultural change across the organization and drive business improvement. Provide project management, analytical and research skills and expertise
Provide expertise, professional advice and guidance to the business in business improvement, drawing from proven industry practice and methodologies. Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success.
Define, develop and publish business improvement process documentation to reflect best practice.
Undertake business process analysis, statistical analysis for improvement projects and to support wider change.
Drive lean manufacturing activities through the evolution of the Exterran production system at all levels of the organization
Demonstrate Leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment
Utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and long-term goals
Establish and implement team strategies, programs and practices to achieve world class manufacturing process flow
Advice and counsel leaders and teams on issues impacting work in-process flow
Create the lean vision and implement the lean strategy to reduce, cost, lead-time and waste at the manufacturing facilities
Drive measurable improvements in productivity and product flow
Lead action workouts, develop pull systems, train personnel and other activities to achieve a world-class lean process flow
Lead manufacturing teams in establishing product flow for plant value streams utilizing visual management tools
Encourage use of Lean tools to pull materials from suppliers, through the manufacturing plants
Champion change across the organization to foster the growth in Lean
Drive engagement with business leaders to collaborate in Lean initiatives that foster goal attainment for current and future business needs
Lead multiple projects driven from team engagement and manufacturing sites priorities
Bring new ideas, motivation and positive support to all levels of the organization
Lead and effectively interface with manufacturing and other support teams to complete projects to meet HSE, production, quality, inventory and cost savings
Interface with vendors and internal contacts in an effective manner to ensure that technology and processes are positioned for current and future success
Develop value stream maps for the product lines and eliminate process waste through the implementation of lean techniques across the product lines

Lean Six Sigma Trained
Understanding of supply chain processes (plan, source, make deliver).
Solid communication and influencing skills; mastery in English and local language.
Knowledge and understanding of how to analyze business problems using Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and statistical analysis.
Some project management skills.
University degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
Requires 5+ years of experience
Membership of an industry related professional body would be advantageous.
Master Black Belt in Six Sigma or equivalent Lean qualification.
Background in manufacturing and/or engineering environments.
Background in people management and project
Must be able to work under pressure
Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the organization
