KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Day Supervisor - Power to support the multi-billion-dollar Plaquemines project developing a Liquid Natural Gas export facility when fully developed will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. The facility’s location is about 20 miles south of New Orleans. This project is expected to be a multi-phase project spanning two years.
Aligning with KBR’s commitment to sustainability, the 630-acre site located on the Mississippi River provides deep-water access without the need for dredging, allowing for an expedited environmentally friendly development process.

This position is contingent upon having a current/valid TWIC card or having the ability to renew or obtain a TWIC card. The TWIC card must be kept current and maintained through employment.
The Day Supervisor - Power will develop Commissioning, Start-up, and Operations (CSO) technical documentation on EPC projects, including Commissioning, Start-up, Operations and Maintenance manuals and procedures. This role will also generate procedures, operation procedures, and systemization of the PIDs. The Day Supervisor – Power will develop documents to meet project schedules. This role will report to the Senior CSO Manager.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
This position will start at the Home Office in downtown Houston then mobilize to Port Sulphur, LA.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for commissioning and start-up all systems of the 5 on 2 combined cycle power plant completing the commissioning work-scope in a logical and controlled sequence and to the project specification
Day-to-day commissioning activities, including system flushing, cleaning, and placing systems in-service
Direct craft personnel
Analyze, troubleshoot, and correct quickly and efficiently
Read P&IDs, schematics, project specifications and specification drawings
Provide weekly reports detailing all commissioning activities
Lead the development of written procedures for testing, cleaning and initial startup of major plant equipment and systems
Manage client/vendor/subcontractor coordination for the startup of completed systems
Manage documentation of the commissioning process, including commissioning data and as built documentation, input to O&Ms and feedback to the design disciplines
Write commissioning and operating procedures
Proactively collect data from engineering, suppliers, and relevant industry sources as input to CSO documents
Responsible for document completion schedules
Be an active participant in the Operability, Maintainability, and Model Reviews of the LNG Complex
Active involvement in the HAZOP and Technical Reviews of the LNG Complex as required
Oversee Pre-commissioning Activities and responsible for Commissioning of the Site Complex
Direct the overall activities of the production facilities personnel during all phases of commissioning, start-up, acceptance, and normal operation of all facilities
Responsible for the safe and reliable operation of all Power Island Units
Liaise with the client Commissioning Representative as required
Stand in for the Commissioning and Start-up Manager as required in particular during their leave cycle will act as CSO Manager
Ensure that the complex is commissioned, operated, and maintained in accordance with the policies, procedures, and standards
Co-ordinate activities with the Technical Department Manager for the periodic technical evaluations of operating systems to optimize production
Strict adherence to Corporate and/or Plant policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required
Experience & Skills:
Must be a motivated self-starter with complex problem-solving ability
Experience with large capital projects, multi-discipline leadership in CSU of facilities
Excellent communication skills and team-oriented personality required to interface with Construction and Operations Teams
Proven ability with Commissioning, Startup, and Operations (CSO) Procedures development
Field experience in CSO troubleshooting
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize conflicting demands
Additional Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in LNG facilities
In lieu of formal education 18 + years of Commissioning, Start-Up, and Operations experience, particularly Commissioning and Start-up of Combined Cycle power plants
Or bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field & 10 -15 years of Commissioning, Start-Up, and Operations experience, particularly Commissioning and Start-up of Combined Cycle power plants
Preferred Experience & Skills:
Proficiency in using different types of computer systems and software, especially Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
Systemization experience
Knowledge of the LNG facilities process
