Actalent Civil Design Engineer in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Description:

The Civil Engineer will specialize in a variety of land development projects - involving stormwater management design, utility design, sustainable design, site development. They will be involved in the design and permitting for development projects around the state of Michigan. Projects include schools, commercial buildings, retail, and institutional.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and site plan development including grading, drainage, zoning, and utilities

  • Prepare project drawings, calculations, and specifications

  • Prepare schematic design and drawings, layouts, drafting, and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Evaluate land use and zoning requirements - zoning ordinances and site plan approval

  • Prepare permit applications, agency review, and approvals.

  • Site visits during the construction phase of the projects

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVE:

  • 2+ years of civil design experience in Civil 3D for land development / site development projects

PLUS EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering

  • EIT or PE License

  • Experience in civil site design for K-12 education school or commercial projects

Experience Level:

Intermediate Level
