ActionLink’s Sony Team currently has a high-profile opportunity available to represent the brand as an Imaging Solutions Representative. The representative will be responsible for executing all Sony retail strategies and action plans within assigned photo specialty retail stores to fully leverage the brand and showcase some of the highest quality photography and videography equipment on the market.

This role will be responsible for selecting, training, developing, and educating retail sales specialists on the features and benefits of the Sony products. Strong selling techniques and building strong relationships are pivotal in this supporting role. The representative will effectively merchandise retail locations with visual displays and in store promotional material as well as deploy launch materials and handle troubleshooting issues as they arise. Also, the representative will handle the gathering, summarizing, and reporting of all field feedback and insights and continually work with Sony to facilitate and execute the proper strategies that will maximize the sales of Sony products.

Schedule & Territory Coverage

  • Schedule is flexible to accommodate different retail store hours, various weekends through peak selling seasons, and timing of special events

  • Daily travel to retailers in assigned zone is required

  • Must reside in a centrally located area within the assigned territory

  • Will spend 80% of time in retail store environments

  • Must be willing and able to travel 2-3 weeks out of the month on average (some months will be 1-2 weeks). Some of the weeks would be over the weekends, but not all

Duties

  • Engage consumers by explaining the benefits and advantages of Sony products

  • Maintain store merchandising to Sony standards

  • Work in conjunction with Sony sell-in and sellout staff

  • Informal and formal training of store associates

  • Conduct factory demonstrations at photo retailers during key selling periods

  • Conduct consumer educational classes focusing on the benefits of Sony products

  • Participate in key consumer shows, i.e., Photo Plus, CES, PMA as directed by Sony

  • Utilize relationships built with store management and associates to increase sales; this would include ensuring that Sony products are displayed and functional to the maximum on the store floor, use of creative initiatives with store approval, etc.

  • Coordinate all aspects of Sony in-store presence; this involves training, assisted-selling and special event schedule planning

  • Collect and report visit data as well as competitive data in electronic call reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; in lieu of degree, minimum 4-6 years of retail, sales, or relevant experience

  • Strong knowledge of videography/video cameras, photography/camera specs, and cinema/photographic arts required

  • Thorough understanding of consumer electronics, digital imaging (including both still photography and videography), and visual merchandising in a retail sales environment

  • Ability to educate and communicate technical digital imaging terminology and electronics knowledge to people at all levels

  • Must have previous experience leading or overseeing other employees with demonstrated ability in coaching and developing retail sales associates

  • Must be customer centric focused

  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills

  • Persuasive communication and customer service skills to build strong, collaborative relationships

  • Ability to motivate, influence, and promote Sony products to consumers at the retail level

  • Understanding of upstream and downstream impacts and actions on the business, vendors, and retailers

  • Must have strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

  • Ability to accommodate a flexible full-time schedule including some weekends during peak selling seasons and special events

Physical Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Must be able to travel as needed by vehicle and/or plane

  • Must be able to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment

  • Must be able to rent a car

  • Must be mobile and able to sit and/or stand for (four) 4 hours or longer

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
