Jacobs Telecommunication Technician 2 - TS/SCI w/Poly in Columbia, Maryland

Jacobs is seeking a Telecommunication Technician to join our team of passionate individuals in Columbia, Maryland. In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the nation’s security and intelligence mission.
Responsibilities:
Analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems.
Resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across host, hypervisor, and guest nodes. Load and configure cloud servers and vendor (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) or white box routers and switches.
Support the acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services.
Act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed

Here’s what you’ll need :
Experience with network planning for telecommunications switches
Experience with conducting integration and system level testing of telecommunications systems or platforms
Experience with Kubernetes
Experience with Cisco, Juniper or equivalent networking equipment
Experience with VMWare, QEMU, KVM, or Docker
Experience with Linux or OpenStack
Knowledge of telephony and telecommunication
Knowledge of networking services
Knowledge of software defined networking
Clearance Required:
- TS/SCI w/Poly
Minimum Education:
- HS diploma or GED
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 14 years of experience with providing technical support for the engineering and testing of complex software and hardware systems in the communication field
Preferred:
Cisco CCNA or equivalent preferred
RHCSA preferred
