Citigroup Ops Accounting Manager - C12 - CIUDAD DE MEXICO in Ciudad De Mexico, Mexico

The Ops Accounting Manager provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the daily work flow of loans and issues relating to Customer Services. Serve as liaison to investors/regulatory agencies and internal units to resolve issues and mitigate risk.

  • Routinely handles exceptional / unusual issues that are complex in nature and of substantial departmental impact.

  • Manage the intake of Custom remediation activity to resolve prior to transformation.

  • Shares responsibility for budget and planning.

  • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes recommendations for yearend distribution of rating, promotions, terminations, etc.

  • Determines hiring to ensure adequate staffing

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Ability to manage teams.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience

  • Familiarity with Accounting practices

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented

  • Proven influencing and relationship management skills

  • Proactive leadership and motivational skills

  • Bachelors degree

Ensure team motivation and development through professional leadership to include tasks such as performance appraisal, compensation, hiring, disciplinary action, and terminations, as well as day-to-day tasks and responsibilities.

The Accounts Payable Lead is responsible for the timely and accurately processing invoices in compliance with Citi Expense Management Policy (CEMP). It is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations and staff to handling all internal and external escalations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing and processing payments to ensure compliance with the Citigroup Expense Management policy. Ensure processing within procedural guidelines and timelines standards. May also include fraud prevention and problem resolution responsibilities.

  • Responsible for the Accounts Monitoring Review Process. Timely review and execute root cause analysis to apply all necessary actions to clean up open items. Consistently assure RMO Ops Accounts healthy status, avoiding red accounts, breaks or negative business impact, as well as to provide overall process visibility and key highlights to senior management on a monthly basis.

  • Responsible for reviewing and processing invoices to ensure compliance with the Citigroup Expense Management policy. Ensure processing within procedural guidelines and timelines standards. May also include fraud prevention and problem resolution responsibilities.

  • Manages one or more accounting teams/department.

  • Manages general accounting functions and the preparation of reports and statistics for a function of the business.

  • Applies in-depth understanding of how this area collectively integrates with other departments, as well as, coordinating and contributing to the overall objectives of the function.

  • Increased scope of accountability relative to supervision in terms of size of group managed.

  • Contributes to discussion on business planning, budgeting, and execution. Responsibility for departmental planning, managing departmental budget and policy formulation.

  • Management responsibilities include: maintaining appropriate staffing /hiring requirements to meet operational needs, training and development needs for assigned team, evaluating exempt subordinates' performance, and making recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc.

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum BS/BA degree.

  • Preferred from 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in operations and related experience in the financial services industry and accounting technical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate complex and sensitive issues to senior management.

  • Proven history of established working relationships with Third Party Service Providers.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple deliverables and tasks with sensitivity to Senior Management.

  • Ability to solve complex issues and apply an appropriate risk management response.

  • Excellent communication skills and fluent in Spanish and English (both written and verbal).

  • Skills to manage SAT, Invoicing, Payment applications.

  • Proficient in MS Office application.
