Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Intermediate Java Developer to join a large insurance client for a 6-month contract. This is a hybrid opening requiring the candidate to be onsite 2 days a week at either their Calgary or Toronto office. This candidate will be responsible for supporting the team responsible for replicating a legacy rating engine for internal users within the commercial auto inssurance offering. The successful candidate will be a full-stack developer with at least 5+ years of hands-on Java development, with experience working with Hibernate and JPA. They will be focused mainly on UI deliverables for the interface between the legacy systems/database and the rating engine. This resource will work alongside an agile team and one other Dev devoted to the project. They will need to be a strong communicator and self-starter and have the ability to reverse engineer from legacy code independently.

5+ years of Java experience (Spring framework, currently using Java 8)

3+ years of Hibernate

3+ years of JPA

3+ years working on front-end stack

- HTML

- CSS

- Javascript

Experience working in Agile (2-week sprints)

Excellent communicator and team player Prime Faces 6.0

Insurance Industry Experience

Ability to reverse engineer legacy code null
