VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Technician in Buffalo, New York

Do you want to utilize your talents and learn new skills in a supportive environment? VCA Sheridan Animal Hospital is seeking an Experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team full-time. We are located in Buffalo, NY and have proudly serviced the Greater Buffalo area with our general practice and specialty services for over 70 years. The Sheridan team is a diverse group of professionals dedicated to providing the highest of standards in all aspects of Veterinary Medicine. The successful candidate will be a believer in high quality veterinary medicine and patient care, with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen. Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work both independently and in a team setting. Our Technicians work directly with our Doctors and Veterinary team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Our Technicians are “The Heart” in everything that helps to keep our hospital running smoothly and efficiently.

As a member of the VCA team, your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so they will partner with us for the lifelong care of their companion animals. This position pays $18-$23 an hour.

You’ve worked hard for your license and we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

• Venipuncture

• Catheter placement

• Radiology

• Anesthesia monitoring

• Physical examinations and patient assessment

• Surgical recovery and post-operative care

• Laboratory work/pharmacy

• Packaging and sterilization of surgical instruments

• Assisting to maintain an optimal work environment

• Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients
