Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in Bridgewater, New Jersey

Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Generalist in Bridgewater, New Jersey. This role will focus on the maintenance and improvement of HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding processes, and personnel file maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring a harmonious workplace environment

• Oversee the recruitment process, from job posting to interviewing, to ensure the best candidates are selected

• Regularly update HR manuals to reflect current practices and regulations

• Lead the onboarding process for new employees, providing orientation to company policies and procedures

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files, adhering to confidentiality and compliance guidelines

• Ensure compliance with HR policies and relevant employment laws

• Rewrite job descriptions as necessary to reflect current roles and responsibilities

• Maintain the employee handbook, updating as necessary to reflect current company policies and procedures

• Manage contracts and ensure they are current and legally compliant

• Handle workers compensation claims and related issues.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Resources managerial role within the government sector preferred

• Proficiency in compliance and HR policy

• Proven expertise in employee relations and conflict resolution

• Experience in rewriting job descriptions and maintaining employee handbooks

• Knowledge of contracts and HR compliance

• Proficient in onboarding and conducting new employee orientation

• Experience in personnel file maintenance and workers compensation

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred

• Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus

• Familiarity with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Strong decision-making capabilities and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
