SUMMARY OF THE POSITION As the process engineer specializing in machining and manufacturing processes, you will play a crucial role in improving the efficiency, quality and productivity in the machine shop and finishing area. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail oriented and have a proven track record in manufacturing problem solving, product quality and cost savings. Strong mechanical skills and strong written and oral communication skills with experience in lean manufacturing and process troubleshooting are desired.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Provide mechanical and process engineering expertise to improve quality, efficiency and productivity in the machine shop and finishing area. Responsible for collecting, interpreting, analyzing quality data in an accurate, thorough, and efficient manner. Analyze materials, machining requirements, and tolerances from a process and quality standpoint for various CNC machining operations. Must possess the ability to read, interpret and evaluate part/material prints. Working knowledge of GD&T. Work with manufacturing/ design engineering team to resolve issues affecting product quality. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for any process-related quality issues. Initiate/perform critical inspections/containments to protect Liberty Pumps customers. Actively identify and recommend process improvements and enhancements in support of overall continuous improvement. Work to develop a successful process workflow and adapt to changing conditions. Provide technical expertise along with creativity and innovation for guiding process improvements and implementing new technology. Work closely with design engineers and production teams to provide technical expertise in the development and execution of machining projects. Become familiar with Liberty Pumps ISO 9001 Forms and Work Instructions as they pertain to Product Design, Product Improvement, Product Assembly, Quality Documentation process and Project tracking. Maintain awareness of manufacturing, and field quality performance, and incorporate countermeasures in new product designs. Responsible and accountable to follow safety guidelines, maintain a clean and organized work area and use good safety judgement. Expected to report all unsafe activities and conditions to Supervisor and/or Safety Representative. QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or related field preferred. An associate degree in engineering technology field with relevant work experience will be considered.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Proficiency in CAD tools, specifically SOLIDWORKS preferred. Strong understanding of cutting tool materials, geometries, and their applications in various machining operations. Familiarity with CNC machines, machining principles, and programming languages. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot process-related issues.
