Robert Half Staff Accountant in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Construction/Contractor industry, located in ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico. The role encompasses various accounting tasks, such as entering bills, job costing expenses, and monthly bank account reconciliation, among others.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications

• Maintain and update customer credit records

• Monitor customer credit accounts and initiate action for delinquent payments

• Ensure accurate and timely entry of bills

• Perform job costing for expenses

• Conduct monthly bank account reconciliation

• Manage weekly and daily credit card entries

• Set up new vendors and ensure compliance for onboarding subcontractors

• Handle credit card processing

• Oversee E-Verify and various new hire set up processes

• Maintain proficiency with Office / Outlook 365

• Utilize Sage software for various accounting tasks

• Use Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis

• Familiarize with ADP for financial services

• Communicate professionally with a team of employees Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role, preferably within the construction/contractor industry.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP), Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger management.

• Skilled in using Sage Software for accounting purposes.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services for payroll processing and management.

• Knowledge of Job Cost accounting and its application in the construction industry.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• 5 years of accounting experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred not required.

• Must possess strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Must be detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
